Supportive communication with parents moderates the negative effects of electronic media use on life satisfaction during adolescence.

Excessive computer use is associated with decreased life satisfaction among adolescents. Supportive communication from parents buffers the negative effects of electronic media use, and appears to be more important than computer use or EM communication with friends in terms of life satisfaction.  (Int J Public Health. 2014 Dec 31.)
